Hi All - here is your blog. Please use this to communicate with each other about the module, the course, and E-Learning generally. It would be useful if you put in links to your own blogs and to other sites you think others might be interested in.
If you are interested in using Second Life for your assignment there is a list of potential projects HERE.

Hi Alan, thanks for creating the blog could you please post specs and what are your expectations...etc for this module :)
ReplyDeleteand whether each one should create a blog as last semester?!
could you lease provide more details on number 5, 6 and whether the powerpoint viewer has the same requirements as before
ReplyDeleteHi Lamis, There are no specs - these are just ideas for projects. Nigel is running the module this year so you need to check with him about precise requirements but I think he's running it much like last year.
ReplyDeleteHi Lamis, the nightlcub needs tidying up and then we need a publicity campaign and a series of events in there to encourage students to start popping in. The lego blocks is just an idea to teach programming visually - so one block might represent a function which needs an integer as input - another block would represent the integer and its shape would fit with the function - it would plug in - but a float or string would have a different shape and wouldn't plug into the input of that function.
ReplyDeleteThe requirements of the powerpoint viewer are much like last year but the viewer may have changed a bit. We just need an easy way for non-technical staff to be able to show their powerpoint slides in SL - so we need a 'How to' guide and possible a few scripts to help them run depending on how you choose to do it.

What kind of education enables us to cope with an interconnected world?
Cambridge Assessment is hosting an event on Tuesday 15th March 2011, 10am – 1pm at One Great George Street, London to investigate what knowledge and skills are attractive to HE institutions and employers around the world – regardless of whether the ‘graduate’ goes into a national or international environment.
Is there a common set of skills, body of knowledge, level of understanding or a mindset that enables students to flourish in an interconnected world whether that is in an HE institution, at work or merely in lifestyle?
